Children in Hospital
At Recycling is Fun we believe making Crafts with a child can help them have a more pleasant stay at the hospital. Kids are not only entertained, but they can create their own masterpieces and get rid of some of their frustration, fears and anxieties that they might have from being in the hospital.

Crafts can also encourage interaction with family members. It provides quality time with the visitors.

Research has shown that making crafts while staying in a hospital:
• stimulates the senses and lifts the spirits
• promotes the healing process
• provides more positive memories of hospital
• encourages togetherness between the child and their family.

Statistics have shown that when one feels loved, cared for and happy the recovery rate is both faster and higher. Creating a friendly environment is key to making a child feel safe for this reason many children hospitals have craft rooms. Sometimes children are unable to visit these rooms or they might not be one available at the hospital they are at. But we can still bring to their rooms simple crafts to make with them. This will make their rooms livelier and will leave a fond memory of a cherished time spent making the object together.

Parents usually know what their child likes to do, so they can go prepared with a wide range of activities that they know their child would like to do. Ideally the child should have many materials available to create whenever he feels well to and to have a variety of possible projects to ensure he is always motivated.

We encourage you to look through the many Craft project we have on this site, to tailor them to the needs and likes of the patient to provide them with constant distraction joy and entertainment while at the hospital!
